Summer came to us in July with her four, 4 day old puppies.  She was out in an area commonly referred to as "Dog Patch", she had dug a 4 foot deep hole and had her puppies in that hole.  It took  4 days to catch her and to get her and the puppies out of the desert heat.

Summer's  puppies have all been spay/neuter and have found their new homes, it is now Summer's turn to find her new home.

Summer was adopted out and returned, we did learn a few more things about her.  Summer is in a foster home with  small and medium size dogs, young dogs and old ones.  Summer is left un-crated in her foster home, but when she got adopted she was the only dog and when her new family left, she  was not happy, she has separation anxiety, and would have accidents in the home and  get a little sick to the stomach.  When they tried crating her  and then  putting her in a bathroom when they left, she was  not happy.  Because of this we feel Summer will do well in a home with dogs.  Dogs that  are playful and will welcome her into their  home. 

Summer would love a home that understands that she may take a bit to warm up to her new people and any dogs that are new to her, that she is still getting used to being an indoor dog.

Summer does use the doggie door, and will  jump  on the door to the outside if the doggie door is closed and she needs out.  She enjoys sleeping on the couch and in her big comfy bed in the bedroom. Summer requests a nice easy going groomer, that understands  her and will give her the time she needs for multiple breaks when she needs them, until she  is used to this idea of being clean and well groomed.

Summer is  doing well with  leash training (she was free roaming for  almost a year).  Summer will also need a yard with a 6 foot fence, since she can easily scale a  3 foot  puppy pen. 

Summer's adoption fee of $245.00 includes her spay, microchip, Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
